Dear Elaine,
Your question is not clear to me. I'm not sure if you want to find a business to start or if you need success tips? My book Weekend Entrepreneur: 101 Great Ways to Earn Extra Cash has information about people who have started a successful business in their spare time. You can also find ideas on my blog.

What They Don't Teach You At Harvard Business School: Notes From A Street-Smart Executive by Mark H. McCormack is one of my favorite books. It gives you insight if you want to have the upper hand in the business world. One of the most important things McCormark mentions is the problem of selling, because that is one of the things they don’t teach at Harvard Business School. And when you are in business, if you don’t have sales, you aren't successful. Depending on the sort of information you are looking for, these two books are a good start.

Good luck on your journey.

This is great! I run a nonprofit that teaches kids about money and how to become financially free earlier than later. And this is exactly what we teach them. In addition, we teach a great program for teens and parents called Wealth Rules! Financial Wisdom for Youth. For more information, visit http://www.creativewealthintl.org.

Dear sir,

Although i am only 16 years old i have had a business mind since i was born. Especially these few years from the age of twelve i become concern and curiouse of how the world economics works and also business. Of course as i learn more i find myself innocents thinking i know all. Ok so many articles and stuff were teaching us how to start off a business. I would be delight to try the stuff i learnt from the internet, however i do not have enough time as my parents are really aware of my acadamic which i totally agree with them. There are some articles saying if teen want to make money, there is a few ways such as sumemr jobs, dog walking, baby sitting etc etc.. I am not being cocky saying i am capable of doing a lot. I do not desperately need money as my family is fine and could satify my basic needs which i feel really lucky about it. However i really do want to try to start off a business like.. fashion, food or smth i am PASIONATE enough for any industry as i want to see how it works, as the process is where you learn most. i know it is going to be hard to MAINTAIN the business after you start off, that's why i have a problem here. I really do want to experience and start off before other teen agers so I could learn from my mistake and avoid taking it again ... Do you have any good suggestion on how i could practice my skills on or even take some risk?

Dear Vince,
Thank you for writing in and sharing what you're up to.

My suggestion is for you, your parents/or a family member to buy the book mentioned, "Young Bucks-How to Raise A Future Millionaire," by Troy Dunn. After purchasing the book ask them work with you to achieve your entrepreneurial goals.

Also, your school (or library) may want to create a class, club or an afterschool program for 'Entrepreneurs in Training.' The Chamber of Commerce may be a resource to help get you startedby providing guest speakers or mentors. Most major citites have Chamber of Commerce branches so you can check their website at http://www.chamberofcommerce.com.

Vince, I have no doubt that you will find your way and succeed beyond your wildest dreams. I look forward to you writing again and filing me in on your progress.

Best Wishes,
Michelle Anton
